Do You Have Anxiety?

Do you have anxiety? And Heres How It Really Works? General anxiety disorder is the most common type that affects millions of people, and many people do not even know they suffer from it. If you have never experienced anxiety before then you are missing out on one of the most important things life can give.

General anxiety disorder is when an individual experiences excessive worry and is unable to control the constant worrying on any given day for more than six months in a row. Anxiety attacks will start out of nowhere and will feel almost like a heart attack, with your heart pounding wildly and you feeling dizzy or sick. You may also experience tingling in your hands, trembling, and chills. You may feel as if you just ran a marathon and will be gripped by fear. Many people that suffer from General Anxiety Disorder will often feel as if they are going to die and will have these feelings even when there is no logical reason to do so.

Many times General Anxiety Disorder (GAD) is misdiagnosed because it has similar symptoms to many other mental health issues. The most common symptoms are: constant worries about health and money, social isolation, irritability and inability to relax, feelings of unreality, and constant thoughts about death and suicide. When someone has GAD their mental health is affected greatly and many times they become depressed and have suicidal thoughts. The treatment for GAD is usually medication and cognitive behavioral therapy. Unfortunately, many of these medications do not treat the actual problem and only mask the symptoms, which makes the disorder worse.

Generalized anxiety disorders are much more common than most people think and are the second most common mental disorder. The first most common type of GAD is depression and is characterized by, regular anxious thoughts and feelings, irritability, and a loss of interest in daily activities. People with GAD may also experience physical symptoms like chest pains and a pounding heart. If left untreated, these symptoms can lead to heart disease, high blood pressure, and cardiac arrest.

If you are wondering if you are on the right medication for your anxiety symptoms, your doctor will want to do some testing first. There are several types of medications that your doctor may suggest to treat your illness. Your doctor may prescribe some type of anti-anxiety or antidepressant drugs, a serotonin norepinephrine reuptake inhibitor (SSRI), or a beta-blocker drug. Each of these medications has its own set of pros and cons, but many patients find that they are very effective at controlling their symptoms. When deciding which of these first-line medications to use, it is important to discuss the benefits and risks with your doctor.

A few other types of anxiety disorders are also treatable. Specific phobias, panic attacks, obsessive compulsive disorders, and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) are just a few mental illnesses that require therapy and medication. Although these are some of the most common mental disorders, they are not the only ones that should be treated. If you, or someone you know may be suffering from one of these conditions, it is important to see your doctor so that he or she can test you and help you find the best treatment for your condition.
